Terms of Service

Welcome to Know Yourself. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our AI-powered personality assessment platform, including all personality tests, quizzes, AI coaching features, and related services available at knowyurself.com (the "Service").

By accessing or using Know Yourself, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Important: You retain complete ownership of your personal insights and personality data. We never sell your data to third parties.

To use Know Yourself, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be located in the United States (or accept that the Service is designed for US users)
• Provide accurate information when requested
• Not have been previously banned from the Service

Know Yourself uses session-based access. When you complete an assessment, you receive a unique session link that allows you to access your results and chat with your personality coach.

If you provide an email address, we'll send your results there for safekeeping. You are responsible for maintaining access to your session links and email.

Our AI personality coach uses your assessment results to provide personalized guidance. We may use your interactions internally to:

• Improve the quality of our AI coaching
• Develop better personality insights
• Conduct research to enhance the Service
• Ensure quality and safety

Your data is never sold or shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Harass, abuse, or harm others
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Reverse engineer or copy our technology
• Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
• Share your session access with others for commercial purposes

Our AI coaching features are not a substitute for professional psychological, medical, or therapeutic advice. All assessments on this platform are self-discovery tools, not clinical diagnostic instruments.

You understand and agree that:

• All assessments and AI-generated insights are for entertainment and educational purposes only
• We do not diagnose any psychological, medical, or mental health conditions
• AI-generated insights are suggestions, not professional advice
• AI may occasionally produce errors or inaccuracies
• You are responsible for how you use personality insights
• The Service is not suitable for crisis intervention or mental health emergencies
• If you're experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline)

Your Content: You retain ownership of any personal information and responses you provide. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process this information to provide and improve the Service.

Our Content: The Service, including our assessment questions, archetype descriptions, AI models, and website design, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

Know Yourself offers free assessments with limited AI coaching (3 free messages). Additional coaching access is available through paid tiers:

• Quick Session: $1 for 30 minutes of unlimited coaching
• Extended Session: $5 for 24 hours of unlimited coaching

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your payment card details. All fees are in USD and are generally non-refundable, except as required by law.

We strive to keep Know Yourself available, but we don't guarantee 100% uptime. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice. For significant changes, we'll provide 30 days' notice when possible.

We retain your assessment data while your session is active. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at hello@knowyurself.com. We'll process deletion requests within 30 days, though some records may be retained as required by law.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Know Yourself and its team from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your misuse of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Decisions you make based on AI-generated content

We encourage you to contact us first at hello@knowyurself.com to resolve any disputes informally.

If we can't resolve a dispute informally, you agree that any dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association rules, rather than in court.

CLASS ACTION WAIVER: You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in class actions.

Opt-out: You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first using the Service by emailing hello@knowyurself.com with your name, email, and statement that you wish to opt out.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Your privacy matters to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes (like pricing, arbitration, or liability terms), we'll provide 30 days' notice via email or prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

You may stop using Know Yourself at any time. We may terminate or suspend your access for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, abuse of the Service, non-payment, or as required by law.
